Emergency Appeal

  • The Liberian Community Association of Dallas/Fort Worth (LCA-DFW; http://www.lcadfwmetro.org) in partnership with healthcare organizations, businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations, issues this emergency appeal for monetary donation, kind, and or service to support healthcare workers and the citizens in Liberia who are fighting the Ebola virus disease (EVD). 

  • Your donations will be used to help support targeted partners and organizations on the ground in Liberia by providing personal protective equipment (PPE) and healthcare products/supplies such as sanitizers, liquid soaps, disinfectants, body bags, face masks.

  • LCA-DFW is a 501(c3) organization so your donations are tax-deductible. Also, all of your donations will be used exclusively for supporting the fight against the EVD in Liberia.

Ways to Donate:

 Individuals, organizations, and/or businesses wishing to make donations have a variety of ways in which to make donations. For monetary donations:

1)       Go to our website, www.lcadfwmetro.org, click on the Donate Now, button, and fill in your information. The next screen allows you to make your donation using your credit or debit card; or using PayPal.

 

         

2)       You can also donate by depositing funds into LCA-DFW’s account at any Wells Fargo bank. This is our account information:

3)       LCA-DFW can receive donations of the following PPE and healthcare supplies at designated drop-off points around the metroplex:

  • disinfectants

  • rubber gloves (non-latex)
  • safety suits
  • masks
  • caps
  • Goggles
  • face shields
  • shoe cover
  • Clorox

We can arrange to travel to your location to pick up the supplies when it is logistically and financially feasible.

BEWARE EBOLA - sudden onset of fever, headache, muscle pain, sore throat & intense weakness; then vomiting & diarrhea; Later: impaired liver & kidneys, internal & external bleeding.

STOP EBOLA - CDC recommends:
  • Isolation of the sick
  • Prompt disposal of victims bodies
  • Trace all contacts of ill patients - isolate and treat if any sign of illness
  • Disinfect homes of the dead and the sick (Clorox)
  • Avoid eating animal meat (especially bush meat)
  • Protective clothing for health care workers & anyone handling infected animals
  • Safe disposal of body fluids and all contaminated needles and sharp objects.
  • Dead bodies of victims must not be given the usual traditional funerals
  • Bodies must be buried promptly and sanitarily without contaminating other people
